Thanks for your interest in becoming an American Heart Association Instructor. Whether your interest is professional or volunteer, as an AHA Instructor, you will be on the front line of emergency cardiac care.



5 Simple steps to become an AHA Instructor:

  1. Complete the Instructor Application Form and mail or Fax with the $55.00 application fee.
  2. Complete the Core Instructor Course prior to attending the BLS Instructor course. (included with the application fee.)
  3. Attend the 1 day BLS Instructor Course. This course fee is $300.00
  4. Purchase Instructor materials for the class you want to teach, BLS for Healthcare Provider, Heartsaver etc. (varies with each class)
  5. Successfully teach a class while being monitored by our AHA faculty. This is an additional $200.00 fee

**Next BLS/Heartsaver Instr. Course:
Chesapeake AED Services holds BLS Instructor courses quarterly. Go to the Schedule a class link and then to the Individual link to see when the next class will be held. Classes generally are held on Saturdays starting at 8:30 and last until approximately 5:00 PM. Lunch is provided. Class size is limited to 12 and will be filled on a first-come basis.
